Hi, hi, hi, Witches, Witchlings, and Witchlets! Today’s post in our Zodiac Self-Care Series features those Scorpions of the sky: Scorpio! These posts are meant to give some ideas for the best self-care techniques and methods according to one’s Sun or rising sign. And remember – take what resonates and leave behind what doesn’t.
A LITTLE BACKGROUND

Born between October 23rd and November 21st, the water sign Scorpio is independent, intense, and indisposable. Scorpions radiate electric charisma, strongly attracting the company of others. However, a Scorpio builds a pretty strong wall around themselves as a way to stave off looky-loos, guard themselves, and keep their life private.
The enigmatic Scorpion relishes in a dangerous excursion or extreme challenge. Their planetary ruler Pluto influences their need to indulge in risk, choosing a thrill over the calm, and experience anything that could be categorized as ‘crazy’.
Strong and stoic, the Scorpion couldn’t care less about what you think of them. They are steadfast in their loyalty and beliefs. Smart as a whip, the Scorpions of the sky are beyond brave – a characteristic we could all have a bit more of, don’t you think?
TYPICAL TRAITS OF THE SCORPIO SIGN

A Scorpio is THE sign who is naturally drawn to the Occult with an almost morbid curiosity. The more dark, disturbed, and dangerous, the better! With this kind of constitution, it isn’t uncommon for a Scorpion to fall into work involving tasks that most others would quickly run from. And alongside this fearlessness resides intense passion.
Speaking of being passionate, Scorpios also possess the trait of persistence. When they want something, they are determined to get it. And most of the time, a Scorpio knows EXACTLY what it is they want. Another enviable trait from this water sign.
Alongside their passionate determination resides the tendency to be secretive. You could watch them all day long and THINK you’ve got them figured out, when really you never will. They keep their cards close to their vest, only furthering others’ fascination with them. And while it can seem that it’s best to be fearful of a Scorpio – and rightly so if you get on one’s bad side – if they’re in your corner, they are in your corner without abandon!

SELF-CARE ACTIVITIES FOR SCORPIO

- Scorpios come into this world primed for success. Whatever they’ve set their eyes on, they will accomplish. Part of being successful is networking. Pursuing situations that allow a Scorpio to flip open their business card holder and toss some contact info at possible allies mainlines self-care directly into a Scorpio.
- The ancient ruler of Scorpio is Mars, who is the planet of combat and aggression. By training in sports that specialize in combative arts, a Scorpio can tap into something inherently ingrained in Scorpions. And with the element of competition, this water sign can really go after a W in bouts and self-care.
- With all that passion, getting Zen through the art of meditation really balances out our Scorpio friends. And without the urge to constantly be surrounded by others, Scorpios love diving deep into their own psyche, giving them the chance to explore the parts of themselves that other signs shy away from. This type of alone time soothes the Scorpion soul.
- Another benefit of having Mars as their ancient ruler is the sex. Our Scorpions are great lovers. After all, their natural inclination for intimacy and passion paired with control and submission has all the makings for some really steamy self-care. Consider yourself lucky to fall into bed with a Scorpion!
- With Greek mythology pointing to Pluto as the ‘Lord of the Underworld’ a Scorpio delving into the Occult makes perfect sense. Pluto is the other ruling planet of our water friend and it holds dominion over all that lies under the surface, that which cannot be seen, and transformation. Scorpios are wonderfully inclined in divinatory practices, so throwing Runes, casting Tarot spreads, reading palms, etc. is second-nature self-care.
IN CONCLUSION…
To all of my Scorpio Sun and rising Witches, I hope you found a little inspiration for your self-care. Remember that self-care comes in many shapes and sizes and what works for one sign won’t do anything for another. Bright Blessings!
